Description
From the rulebook:
In most games, players compete
against each other to achieve victory. Shadows over Camelot proposes a journey
of a very different kind, where you and your fellow players, as Knights of
the Round Table, will collaborate to jointly defeat... the game!
At first glance, this task seems simple enough. After all, shouldnt
a band of young and noble Knights - fleet of foot and sound of mind - easily
defeat a game that plays itself? Alas your quest is further complicated by
the ever-present possibility of a Traitor in your midst, biding his time,
waiting to strike at the worst possible moment...
But enough words... Don your cloak, climb astride your warhorse and gallop
into the Shadows to join us in Camelot!
In the box you will find:
-) 1 Master gameboard of Camelot and the Round Table, with its surrounding
Quests;
-) 3 additional Double-sided Quests (the Holy Grail, Excalibur, and Lancelot
& the Dragon);
-) 16 Swords of the Round Table;
-) 168 cards;
-) 7 Coat of Arms (one per Knight);
-) 7 standard dice (one for each Knight) and 1 special 8-sided die for the
Siege Engines;
-) a Rules Booklet and the Book of Quests;
-) 30 Miniatures (7 Knights, 3 Relics, 12 Siege Engines, 4 Saxon and 4 Pict
warriors).

Our Feedback:
CO-OP games are always going to score pretty high in our book because of how rare they are. This game is truly CO-OP in that you decisions effect your fellow palyers and the game is stacked against you. Failure to work and communicate with fellow players will lead to a fast defeat.
The game is set in Zones, and you treavel zone to zone trying to win the zone (and possibly the item in the zone) however on each turn each player first makes an (EVIL) move to show the progression of evil in the land. There are options here that allow players to determine whether to paly an evil card at random, lose 1 life point, or place a Seige Engine in Camelot. Any of these can quickly add up to a total loss so even this stage requires strategy with other players.
One interesting element is that your player can die and be removed from the game so working with others is an important element to keep each player in the game at all.
Rule book is semi-thick, but once you play through a game the rules are really very simple and turns move pretty quickly (asside from discussion over what to do)
A decent value at $50.00 give the amount of materials included with the box. If you are a fan of the Lord of the Rings CO-OP game, this one is certainly for you.
