Rifts takes place in the not
too distant future. World War III devastaed the world but also unlocked a
huge network of mystic energy. As a result the face of the planet has changed
forever. Aliens and mystic creatures have surfaced and Earth has become a
hub of both magical and extra-teresestrial activity.
Cities have been rebuild. Some by humans. Some by creatures far from human.
The vastness of space has become a little smaller thorugh both dimensional and stellar travel revealing hundreds of new worlds, new technology, and new dangers.
You live during the 3rd Platinum age, when interstellar commerce is the root of most civilaized worlds, and the hottest commodity is slave labor and rare alien artifacts both of which have caused wars both on Earth ond throughout the 3 galaxies.
