There are some very powerful units in the game of starcraft 2 and as well as other races the Starcraft 2 protoss units possess some powerful units themselves that if utilised well can really make or break your game playing.

Starcraft 2 protoss units – Mothership Unit:

Of all the starcraft 2 protoss units the Mothership is quite possibly the most powerful. It is a flying unit that makes other units and structures nearby invisible which is incredibly useful. As a protoss player you can only ever have one Mothership at a time. The Mothership has other powerful abilities like creating a black hole. With a black hole you can temporarily remove other units that are close by out of the battle. Another interesting and handy ability is to be able to teleport units from a distance into battle. The one thing though that you should bear in mind with this unit is that it consumes a lot of resources to produce.

Starcraft 2 protoss units – Colossus Unit:

Colossus is the large four-legged vehicle that fires lasers in a splash pattern and are well suited to destroying swarms of weaker units. Due to it’s long legs it can also traverse terrains of varying heights. This is such a large ground unit that it also registers as an air unit. You should bear this in mind though, as due to this they can be attacked by anti air weapons if it is in range. The colossus can damage many enemies in one go with it’s powerful laser that it beams down across a battlefield. The unit can be made even more deadly than it already is if you upgrade to have increased range.

Starcraft 2 protoss units – Carrier Unit:

The carrier starcraft 2 protoss units are very powerful air units. They do not have their own attacks but have many attack ships within it. These ships launch off the carrier vessel into battle. They fly near the carrier and attack enemy units. These mini units do need to be repaired if killed off, but the advantage is that the carrier can rebuild them itself.

As well as the three most powerful units within the protoss race there are few others of note that I will mention here. There is the probe that is the builder of the entire race, and is useful as it gathers gas and minerals. The Dark Templar is a permanently cloaked stealth warrior. Then there is the zealot that is a unit with the ability to charge, which allows it to close the distance quickly between themselves and an enemy unit.
